How many years have you been an innkeeper and what made you become an innkeeper?
We recently purchased Lamberson Guest House in August of 2026, and we are honored to be the 11th owners of Lamberson Guest House, a home that has stood for 156 years and continues to inspire everyone who visits. As a retired math teacher (Val) and a school counselor (Bart), our lives have always centered around supporting others—a calling that naturally shapes our approach to hospitality.
We love the sense of community that grows around sharing food, gathering at a table, and creating moments that bring people together. That spirit guides the way we welcome guests and the experiences we hope to create here.
Our hope is that each guest finds renewal through rest, joy, and the peaceful beauty of Galena. We strive to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and truly memorable, and we look forward to welcoming you to Lamberson Guest House in person.
What is your favorite part about our community / Galena?
We love the rich history of Galena and how the town feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie—surrounded by beautifully preserved historic homes, a charming downtown, wonderful restaurants, and welcoming local businesses. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and simply enjoy being here.
What fun things can your guests expect when they stay at your inn?
Our guests can expect beautifully appointed private rooms with en‑suite bathrooms, the charm of a lovingly preserved historic home, an easy walk to downtown Galena, delicious food, a genuine sense of community, and a peaceful place to find rest and renewal.
